Backlight Bleed Test
Check for uneven backlight at screen edges
Bottom lineIn a fully dark room, show a pure black screen at 100% brightness and look at the four corners and edges. Slight, even glow along the edges is normal for LCD panels; distinct bright patches or blotches indicate backlight bleed from pressure damage or a manufacturing defect.
Prepare Environment
Go to a completely dark room or wait until nighttime
Display Black Screen
Use the Dead Pixel Test with black color, or open a full-screen black image
Set Brightness to Maximum
Increase screen brightness to 100% to make backlight bleed more visible
Inspect Edges and Corners
Look carefully at all four corners and edges for any light leakage or bright spots
Note: Minor backlight bleed is common on LCD displays. Significant bleed (visible bright patches) may indicate pressure damage or manufacturing defects.
