  2. Find Physical Serial Number

    Look on the bottom of your MacBook or on the original product packaging

  3. Compare Numbers

    Both serial numbers should match exactly

  4. Cross-Check Another Source

    If needed, verify again in System Information or on account.apple.com to rule out listing or label mistakes
