Test fingerprint sensor functionality

Bottom lineEnroll a fingerprint in System Settings > Touch ID & Password, then unlock from the lock screen: it should respond within 1–2 seconds from several finger angles. Touch ID that cannot enroll or fails often usually means the sensor or logic board was replaced without Apple calibration—cross-check with Parts & Service.

  1. Open Touch ID Settings

    System Settings > Touch ID & Password

  2. Add a Fingerprint

    Click 'Add Fingerprint' and follow the prompts to register your finger

  3. Test Recognition

    Lock the screen and unlock using Touch ID. It should respond within 1-2 seconds

  4. Test Multiple Angles

    Try unlocking with different finger angles to ensure consistent recognition
